Welcome!
Thanks for taking the time to find out a little more about us. We are a family of four Canadians, Mark, Alecia, J, and N, starting a new chapter of our lives in Jakarta, Indonesia in July 2018.

We were all born in Niagara, Ontario, Canada and have lived our whole lives here. We are Christians, dedicated to serving God, our Saviour in all aspects of our lives. Mark and I were married in 2005 in Niagara-on-the Lake at my family home. J came along in 2010, then N in 2012.
Mark has worked in Christian education since 2005 as a teacher, Vice Principal, and finally as Principal. I have been privileged to be able to stay at home with our kids while enjoying flexible working arrangements babysitting, working with an amazing Team Building company and more recently working and volunteering at our home church.
We love the outdoors, taking opportunities to walk, hike, bike, garden, camp and play outside.
In July of 2018, we are moving to Kemang Village, in South Jakarta, Indonesia. Mark will be the Head of School for one of five Christian Schools called Sekolah Pelita Harapan. (Read my first post about how this happened.) Only God knows how long we will serve here, but we look forward to the adventure, change, and challenges before us. Please join us as I share our time as Expats in Jakarta. I am no writer, in fact, I like to say that words aren’t my friend. My purpose is to keep our family and friends at home, who we love and find difficult to leave, up to date on our life here. I have also found it helpful to read other blogs about transitioning to life in Jakarta, so I hope that if you find yourself in this position, you may find some of our experiences helpful. It may not always be excitement and adventure, but who can handle excitement and adventure all the time?!
